DC-AAPOR and the Roper Center present 2016 Election Polling: A Postmortem – Just What Do Voters Expect?
Wednesday, November 16th, 3:00 to 5:30PM
The Gallup Building, 901 F Street, NW The Great Hall, (2nd Floor)
This event is an opportunity to gather with colleagues and industry leaders to look back over the year, digest the recent election results, and examine implications for our profession and for the next administration. There will be plenty of time for discussion to hear from the many pollsters and consultants in town for the Roper Center’s Mitofsky Award Dinner. This postmortem’s panel will include several distinguished guests:
Susan Page is the Washington Bureau chief of USA TODAY, covering her ninth presidential campaign. She’s interviewed the past eight presidents and reported from five continents.
David Winston is president of The Winston Group, a strategic planning and survey research firm. He has served as a strategic advisor to Senate and House Republican leadership for the past fourteen years.
Celinda Lake is president of Lake Research Partners and is one of the Democratic Party’s leading political strategists, serving as tactician and senior adviser to the national party committees, dozens of Democratic incumbents and challengers at all levels of the electoral process.
Frank Newport is Editor-in-Chief of the Gallup Poll. He has been Gallup’s chief pollster for more than 20 years and a past president of AAPOR. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors at the Roper Center.
The panel will be chaired by Murray Edleman of Edelman Research Consultants. A Distinguished Survey Research Scholar at Rutgers, Murray has had a 35-year career as a researcher on elections and public opinion. He is currently a trustee of the National Council of Public Polls.
Registration is required. However, there is no charge for this event, and a ticket for the Mitofsky Award Dinner is not required. If you are interested in attending the Roper Center’s Mitofsky Award Dinner, tickets are now available.
