Abstract: This data set contains 184 variables prepared by the authors in connection with their comparative study of government support of the aged. The data is focused on indicators relevant to social security (social welfare) programs and to the health and welfare of the aged. Some variables have data on up to 131 nations, although most variables have data on fewer nations, as only a limited number of nations have social security data available.
