Pew Global Attitudes & Trends Question Database
Search Help

Search for — Use the first text field to search for combinations of words and phrases. By default only questions that include all of your search terms are returned. Boolean searches are allowed so feel free to use ands or ors. You may also use the wildcard symbols (* or %) to expand your search (i.e., 'environment*' instead of 'environmental or environmentalist'). You can use the wildcard when you wish to search on different forms of the same word without having to specify each form in the "Search for" field. For example, enter "democ%" when you wish to find questions containing "democracy," "democracies," "democratic," or "democratically." If you are looking for an exact phrase, simply put quotation marks around your search terms.

Select Topic — A pull down menu of topics is available to help focus your search. You may select the default "Any topic" or select a single topic.

Year — Enter a target year range. If you are looking for a specific year enter it into both boxes.

Select Countries — To limit your search by country, simply select as many countries as you'd like.

Select Studies— In addition to the Year field, you can also limit your search to specific Pew Global Attitudes studies. You can select as many studies as you'd like, the default is to search on all available studies.
