This 2001 NORC Guns Survey, sponsored by Johns Hopkins Center for Gun Policy Research and the Joyce Foundation, features questions about gun control and ownership. Where should concealed carry weapons be allowed in public? Which crimes should prevent people from purchasing guns? Does owning a gun increase feelings of personal safety? There are also several questions about the death penalty. The data was collected via telephone May 8th - October 30th, 2001 of 1,558 national adults with an oversample of gun carriers.
