October 01, 2008

Choice calls us an OAT!

Outstanding Academic Title

Every year in the January issue, in print and online, Choice publishes a list of Outstanding Academic Titles that were reviewed during the previous calendar year. This prestigious list reflects the best in scholarly titles reviewed by Choice and brings with it the extraordinary recognition of the academic library community.

The Roper Center is delighted to announce that the iPOLL database has been named an Outstanding Academic Title by Choice, a publication of the Association of College and Research Libraries, a division of the American Library Association.

More than 7,000 titles were reviewed by Choice in 2008 and only 50 electronic resources were selected for inclusion on the OAT list for the year. The reviewer had this to say about the iPOLL database:

Simply put no other source allows this level of breadth, and depth of access. The Roper Center holdings are a unique treasure and worth the access fee for students, scholars, and practitioners.

Summing Up: Essential.
