Roper Receives the Data Seal of Approval
Data Seal of Approval The Roper Center has received the Data Seal of Approval from the DSA Board. In 2005, DANS- Data Archiving and Network Services was established with a commission to develop a Seal of Approval for data that would ensure that archived data could still be found, understood and used in the future. Since 2009, the international DSA board has overseen the rigorous assessment process that awards the DSA to those institutions that meet its criteria for quality data management. The announcement of the Roper Center's achievement was made on April 24, 2015. Receipt of the DSA indicates that peer archives recognize that the standards implemented by the Roper Center in preserving and processing datasets are considered to be among the best archival practices in the field. The Roper Center is proud to be associated with the objective of the DSA: to assure high quality management of data for the future of scientific inquiry.
