Zika Virus: A Look Back at the 2016 Summer Olympics

October 16, 2017

In March 2016, the Associated Press and NORC at the University of Chicago conducted a national survey of 1,004 adults to explore Americans' knowledge about the Zika virus. The study features specific questions about a Zika virus outbreak and the American athletes participating in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Brazil. Despite the outbreak, only a quarter of Americans believed that American athletes should withdraw from the 2016 Summer Olympics (source: Associated Press-NORC Zika Virus Survey, Mar, 2016).
