JPOLL, a comprehensive database of Japanese public opinion data, was supported by generous funding from the United States-Japan Foundation. The partnership between the Roper Center and the US-Japan Foundation was designed to expand our database and to promote its broad use. This resource, combined with the Roper Center’s US public opinion database (iPOLL), helped to facilitate more comparative social science research, moving us toward a better understanding Japanese society and of relations between Japan and the United States.

Due to the lack of continued funding and technology changes, the JPOLL database is no longer available. However, researchers can explore over 400 datasets from Japan in our existing dataset collection, updated regularly.
