Puerto Rico's Recovery After Hurricane Maria

In October 2017, the Kaiser Family Foundation conducted a survey exploring Americans' knowledge and views regarding Hurricane Maria's impact on Puerto Rico. The survey of 1,008 national adults included questions on what respondents had heard about the hurricane, their thoughts on the federal government's response, and their awareness of Puerto Rico's status as a US territory. The majority of respondents reported hearing "a lot" about the damage Hurricane Maria caused in Puerto Rico (source: Kaiser Family Foundation).

Additionally, 44% of respondents think that President Trump and his administration have done less to help Puerto Rico following Hurricane Maria than they did to respond to hurricanes that damaged Florida and Texas.
